It will not install, or it is not there.
- Get the installer212 MB, SOLIDWORKS 2020 or later on 64-bit Windows 10 or later. Administrator rights, and SOLIDWORKS closed before setup runs.
- Setup cannot find SOLIDWORKSSetup checks only that SOLIDWORKS is installed and has been opened once so it registers itself. Open it once, close it, run CADABRA Setup again.
- Setup needs the .NET 9 runtimeThe .NET 9 Desktop Runtime is fetched from builds.dotnet.microsoft.com during setup, so that step needs internet. WebView2 is inside the download and installs offline.
- No CADABRA icon in SOLIDWORKSTools, then Add-Ins, then tick CADABRA in both columns. The panel opens in the right-side task pane.
- A mode is grayed outBlocked modes stay visible and disabled. Ask and Imagine are on every plan, Plan, Agent and Debug need a paid plan, Drawings needs Enterprise. Imagine renders concepts on Free; building one hands it to Agent, which does not. A paid plan whose subscription is not active is treated as Free.
- Confirm it is workingOpen a part and ask a question in Ask Mode. Ask reads the document and never changes it, so nothing is at risk.
- Uninstall and reinstallClose SOLIDWORKS first. The .NET 9 Desktop Runtime and WebView2 are left installed when CADABRA is removed.
It cannot connect or sign in.
- Is the service upLive state for the Plugin API, the Accounts API, the sign-in provider, the website and the installer download. Check this before anything below.
- The panel cannot reach CADABRAThe interface is served from disk, so only the API calls need the network. With no connectivity the saved session cannot be validated and you are returned to the sign-in screen.
- Behind a proxy or firewallAllow all six hosts over HTTPS on 443: api.cadabrai.com, accounts.cadabrai.com, cadabrai.com, builds.dotnet.microsoft.com, stcadabraprds3lz74yr.blob.core.windows.net and cadabra-installers.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com. Leave out the two installer hosts and the panel keeps working until a required update arrives, then blocks until that update installs.
- Reset a passwordThe dashboard sends a 6-digit code that expires in 1 hour. If you signed up with Microsoft, use that button on the sign-in page instead of a password.
- A verification email never arrivedCheck the spam folder, then use Resend on the verify screen. Resend is available again 30 seconds later.
- This machine is already active elsewhereOne workstation is active at a time on Free, Student, Standard and Professional. Enterprise is not limited to one. The refusal names the machine holding it, and you release that machine from the dashboard Account page.
Requests are being declined.
- Out of creditsFree 700K, Student 3.5M, Standard 5M and Professional 10M credits a month. Over the allowance a prompt is refused and the message ends with the date your limit resets. The quota is rechecked before each model call, so a long run can stop part-way.
- Buy usage for this periodTurn on "Allow extra usage" and set "Budget this period" on the dashboard, in whole dollars up to 10,000. Both are disabled until a card is on file, and a purchase is at least $10.
- How credits are countedCredits are drawn down per completion, so an Ask question costs a fraction of an Agent edit and a drawing set costs most. Unused credits do not roll over. A separate cap of 120 requests a minute is not the allowance, and it clears within a minute.
- Change or cancel a planBoth from the dashboard, billed through Stripe. While a paid subscription is not active the account is treated as Free, so every mode but Ask locks.
- A student address was not recognizedStudent is $20 a month. Requires an academic email in a supported region.
It did the wrong thing, or nothing.
- Undo it and read the treeCADABRA does not group a run into one SOLIDWORKS undo record. Revert is a feature-tree diff: one step back deletes the feature the last step added, and reverting the build deletes every feature the run created and puts the model back to its state at the start of that run. An in-place edit that adds no feature is not revertable, and there is no file checkpoint.
- Nothing changed at allRead the mode pill first: Ask, Plan, Debug and Imagine never change your model, so a change asked for in one of them never runs. In Agent Mode, "Couldn’t confirm this change. Check your model." means the step reported success and the check could not prove it, so read the feature tree.
- The instruction did not resolveName the operation, the face or edge, and the number. A change asked for in Ask Mode is refused with "That would change your model. Switch to Agent mode to build or edit it."
- A rebuild, sketch or mate errorDebug Mode reads the document metadata, the feature list, a forced rebuild with diagnostics and an external-reference check before it answers. It is the mode for this, and it never edits.
- Working in a PDM vaultNo PLM or PDM connector today. CADABRA works on the document you have open and the standards you upload, and your vault rules keep applying to that file.
- Stop it applying changes unpromptedApproval preference in the task pane Settings: Always ask, Ask for large tasks, which is the default, or Never ask. It is stored per machine. Always ask blocks Drawings Mode, which has no approval step.

The prompt and what happened
Paste the prompt exactly as you sent it, the answer or refusal the panel gave, and what you expected instead. If the panel itself crashed, "Copy error details" puts an error id and the stack on your clipboard, and nothing is sent until you paste it to us.

The state of the file
Part, assembly or drawing, and whether it was open, in a sketch, rolled back, or already carrying a rebuild error. Name the mode and the level showing in the composer pills. With a drawing active, every prompt is routed through Drawings Mode whatever the mode pill says.

The version
The person icon at the top right of the panel opens Settings. The last line reads Version 1.3.46, or Version 1.3.46 Build 0007 on an early access build. It is readable before you sign in.

The logs, attached by hand
Nothing in the product opens or exports a log. %TEMP%\Cadabra\reports\cadabra-build-<date>.jsonl holds every modeling and drawing action CADABRA ran and is always written, in a temp folder a disk cleanup empties. %APPDATA%\Cadabra\logs\crash_<date>_<time>.txt exists only if CADABRA crashed SOLIDWORKS. %LOCALAPPDATA%\Cadabra\logs\update_<date>_<time>.log exists only when an update ran. %ProgramData%\CADABRA\install.log is the installer trace, and the only artifact when the panel never appeared at all.

How does CADABRA integrate with SOLIDWORKS?
CADABRA installs as a SOLIDWORKS add-in with a single installer. Close SOLIDWORKS, run the installer, enable the add-in, and CADABRA appears in the right-side task pane. There is no migration and no file conversion: it runs on your existing SOLIDWORKS license and your existing files.
Do I need my own SOLIDWORKS license?
Yes. CADABRA is an add-in, not a CAD system. You keep your existing SOLIDWORKS license, files, libraries, and PDM, and CADABRA works inside them.
Does CADABRA work without an internet connection?
No. CADABRA reaches its AI processing environment over the network, and CAD data is encrypted in transit. Model inference requires sending the prompt and the assembled model context, so there is no offline mode. If that rules CADABRA out for your work, contact us before you evaluate it.
How is usage measured?
In credits, and every plan states its own monthly allowance: Free 700K, Student 3.5M, Standard 5M and Professional 10M. Usage is drawn down per completion, so an Ask Mode query costs very little while an Agent Mode operation or a drawing set costs more. The dashboard shows how much of the month you have used. Unused allowance does not roll over.
Can CADABRA fix SOLIDWORKS errors?
CADABRA diagnoses rebuild errors, mate failures, dangling sketch relations, and missing references in the context of your open model, and explains what to change. Because it can see the feature tree and the failing feature, the answer is specific to your file.
How do I stop CADABRA training on my designs?
Turn on the data setting in the dashboard under Preferences. It processes your designs, prompts, and files only to answer the request in front of it, keeps none of them on CADABRA’s servers, and excludes them from training. The trade-off is that it also turns off cloud chat history and cross-device recall, because both are stored data. It is included with every plan.
