# Setting up your drawing standards

> Upload drawings you have already released and CADABRA extracts your title block fields, projection angle, units, text height and standing notes from them, then applies that to every drawing it generates.

# Drawing standards

CADABRA extracts your conventions from drawings you have already released. There is no form of settings to fill in.

## What you supply

Standards live at the organization level, so one setup covers everyone on your team. Standards live at the organization level, so one setup covers everyone on your team.

Upload `.slddrw` files, or a sheet format, or `.dwg`, `.dxf`, `.pdf` and `.step`. A convention that appears across several of your drawings is applied more confidently than one that appears once.

## What is extracted

- **Title block fields**, and which of them are filled from model properties rather than typed.
- **Projection angle**, first or third, applied to the sheets it generates.
- **Units and linear precision.**
- **Text height and typeface**, applied when dimensions are written.
- **Standing notes**, separated into the ones that belong on every drawing and the ones that were specific to that part and should not be copied forward.

The merged result is held as a draft until you review it. If a reference fails to extract, the standard is flagged for review.

## Readiness states

The Standards page in the [dashboard](https://cadabrai.com/dashboard/standards) shows how complete your configuration is. There are four states:

- **Not set up.** No references supplied. Generation falls back to the host SOLIDWORKS default drawing template.
- **Partial.** Some artifacts are in place. Output will be inconsistent between sheets.
- **Ready.** Enough is configured to generate drawings that follow your conventions.
- **Strong.** The full set, including the edge cases. This is where batch generation stops needing per-sheet correction.

Supply references before your first large batch rather than after.

## More than one standard

Teams that issue to more than one convention, for example a metric house standard and a customer-specific one, can build both and name them. One is active at a time, and you switch it in the dashboard. Generation always uses the active standard, so it is a setup step rather than something you say in a prompt.
